We recommend to use the servername as the hostname to ensure that a valid encryption certificate is available. Using other hostnames may cause warnings such as could not verify the server. If you are unsure what your server name is, please contact us.
Scroll down if you want to update an existing account on your iOS device.
Add a new account in Apple iOS Mail
- Navigate to Settings.
- Scroll down to Passwords & Accounts.
- Click on Add Account.
- Click on Other.
- Click on Add Mail account.
- Fill in your Name, email address and the corresponding password.
- Click on Next.
Configure the settings for a new account
- Choose IMAP.
- Enter the desired Name.
- In Incoming mail server:
- Set the Hostname to the servername (see above).
- Enter your full email address in Username.
- In Outgoing mail server:
- Set the Hostname to the servername (see above).
- Enter your full email address in Username.
- Enter the Password.
- Click on Next.
- Optionally set Notes to Yes if you want to store the notes on your mail server as well.
- Click on Save.
Update an existing account in Apple iOS Mail
- Navigate to Settings.
- Scroll down to Passwords & Accounts.
- Click on the account you want to update.
- Click on Account [your email address] >
Update the incoming server
- Set the Hostname to the servername (see above).
- Enter your full email address in Username.
- Enter the Password.
- Click on Advanced.
- Verify the settings in Incoming Settings:
- Use SSL should be checked.
- Authentication should be Password.
- IMAP Path Prefix should be /.
- Server Port should be 993.
- Click on Account to go back.
Update the Outgoing server
- Click on SMTP.
- Click on the server configured are the Primary server.
- Server should be Checked.
- Set the Hostname to the servername (see above).
- Enter your full email address in Username.
- Enter the Password.
- Use SSL should be Checked.
- Authentication should be Password.
- Server Port should be 587.
- Click on Done.
- Click on Account.
- Click on Done.
- The settings have been updated now.
