Login to Joomla Administrator is not working and no error is displayed after a migration

There are several ways to resolve the issue where you can not log in to the Joomla Administrator and no error message is shown. The article at Itoctopus.com can help out, however in the event of a migration there might be another reason.

  1. Open the .htaccess in the document root and remove any entries related to session.save_path.
  2. If it exists, open user.ini and remove the row with session.save_path.

If the rows do not exist, this might not be the solution for you. However, after doing a transfer this problem might occur.
