Disable Let's Encrypt for a domain in DirectAdmin

In this guide you will learn how to disable Let's Encrypt for a domain. You can also use this guide to disable Let's Encrypt renewal, so you can install a different certificate.

Disable Let's Encrypt for moved or cancelled domains in DirectAdmin

Perhaps you are receiving messages like "Error during automated certificate renewal for domain.com". This happens because the domain does not point to the server. When you have cancelled a domain or moved a domain, this is the right guide for you.

Note

If you expect Let's Encrypt to work, make sure that your domain points correctly (including A, AAAA and CNAME records).

Steps to disable Let's Encrypt in DirectAdmin

  1. Make sure that you are logged in.
  2. When you have multiple domains, select the domain. Otherwise, proceed to step 3.
  3. Go to SSL Certificates.
  4. Click Disable Auto-Renew. This button is at the bottom of the page.
  5. You have just successfully disabled auto renew and Let's Encrypt.
