Limiting the number of outgoing emails per hour is important for preventing spam, improving server performance, and ensuring mail deliverability. WHM allows server administrators to easily set a global hourly email limit applicable to all hosted domains. Follow these simple steps to configure this setting.
You can also configure limits per hosting plan or per account.
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Login to WHM
- Go to

- Enter your root username and password.
- Go to
- Navigate to Tweak Settings
- Once logged in, use the search bar in the top left corner and type in "Tweak Settings."
- Click on the Tweak Settings option from the results.
- Open the Mail Settings
- On the Tweak Settings page, click on the Mail tab.
- Set the Global Mail Limit
- Find the option called Max hourly emails per domain.
- Enter the desired hourly email limit. For example, entering
200
means each domain can send up to 200 emails per hour.
- Save Your Changes
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save to apply your new settings.
Adjusting Limits per Domain (Optional)
You can also set custom limits for specific accounts:
- In WHM, search and click on Modify an Account.
- Select the account you want to adjust and click Modify.
- Set the Hourly Email by Domain Relayed value to override the global setting for this account.
- Save your changes.
